Jim Reed Joins Thoits Insurance as Vice President

Mountain View , CA 03/15/07 - Jim Reed joined Thoits Insurance on March 1st as Vice President. Jim has eleven years of experience in the high tech industry at the senior management level, including 6 years with Nokia Corporation. “Thoits is very excited to welcome Jim Reed as the newest member of our sales staff. His business background and current public involvement will add new dimensions to our team,” said Dean Middour, President.
Prior to joining Thoits, Jim spent a year as the editor and general manager of the Press-Banner newspapers in Santa Cruz County, where he had profit and loss responsibility and editorial control of this weekly community newspaper that reaches over 20,000 homes.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Politics and holds a Property Casualty license from the California Department of Insurance. He is active in several community and service organizations and is an elected member of the Scotts Valley City Council. He and his wife Lea have four young children.
